Bradford College Testimonials

Shal Main Chan
Shal Main studied the Foundation Studies program graduating in December 2008. She is now studying the Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Adelaide.
"Studying at Bradford was a whole new experience. The lecturers are very patient and friendly. They guided me through a year of Foundation Studies with great effort. Whenever you are in doubt, they are more than willing to help you with your work.
The courses provided are very practical and exciting, especially critical thinking and English literature where I was exposed to another higher level of learning. I learnt special skills like researching for materials and logical thinking, which I found are very important study skills in university where you can’t survive without them! I’m grateful that I was able to learn them before the later years in University.
Bradford actually gave me an excellent and wonderful preparation for my university course. The talks given by the ex-students of Bradford were really beneficial. They prepared me for the interview for dentistry to a higher stage. I felt very confident when I stepped into the PQA examination and interview room. The College’s Manager of Student Learning helped me with my application for dentistry. She even contacted the university to double-confirm my application was received. I felt very assured when I handed my application forms to her.
The library in the University is very resourceful! Whenever I was given an assignment, I’d go to the library to pick up some reference books. That’s how I scored high marks in most of my assignments! The computers in the suites are best for studying and very crucial during the exam time. They are always accessible and free for use! Adelaide is a great place for studying, a city with high security, serenity and convenience. I’m confident that you’ll enjoy your time here too."

Yunyun Heng
Yunyun studied the Foundation Studies program graduating in December 2008. She is now studying the Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Adelaide.
"I chose to study at Bradford College because I think Bradford offers the best pathway for entry into the University of Adelaide. The subjects that I took at Bradford have helped me to develop my writing and critical thinking skills. Students are able to receive personal attention from their lecturers due to the small class sizes.
My favourite lecturers were Paul Monte, Susan Reive, Leanne Taylor, Andrew Olesnicky and Nigel Coombe. They are all experienced and are ready to lend a hand whenever students ask. I was very inspired and impressed with the content of the Foundation Studies program at Bradford College as it helped me to become more confident and independent in my studies.
Being an international student, Bradford College offered me not only excellent facilities, but also an atmosphere of friendliness and closeness. It is located on the University of Adelaide campus and there are so many opportunities to become involved in extra-curricular activities. These also serve as a great way to meet and interact with students from different cultural backgrounds.
Adelaide is a safe and wonderful place to live. It is suitable for an outgoing person because there are so many social events. I have attended some of these events such as the Fringe and the Royal Adelaide Show. When I first came here, I was terribly homesick but it did not take me too long to fit in. Thanks to the staff at Bradford who gave me a warm welcome and were very helpful to all of us.
My year at Bradford was one of the most enjoyable and unforgettable experiences in my life. Looking back now I know I definitely made the right choice."
William Jian Dong Liang
William studied the Degree Transfer program at Bradford College in 2003 and graduated with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Adelaide in 2007. He is now studying his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Louisiana State University (USA) in 2008.
“Bradford College provides a friendly start for overseas students. The Degree Transfer program provided me with a good platform for settling into a new stage of study in terms of English language and academics. I think that Bradford always does the best to guide and support students.
The computer network service is very impressive and extremely useful at both the university campus and the Bradford campus and made life much easier for me. Also, the city of Adelaide is perfect for a student. Accessible restaurants, the art gallery and museum made my time in Adelaide an enjoyable one. A book and a cup of latte is the best way to enjoy a peaceful afternoon in the city.
Studying Engineering at Bradford and the University of Adelaide for me, was not just science and maths. I found new ways of learning new concepts and ideas and communicating with people who have different accents. It was really satisfying when my friend and I worked out a solution after few days of struggling with the tricky definitions of fluid-dynamics.
What I liked most about university were the people. Everybody is a character, and I always learnt from them, not just what they were teaching us, but I learnt about who they are as well.
